Important Notice for Prospective Adopters

The first quarter of the year is typically slow with Goldens being relinquished to rescue, and we have more than 100 approved applicants waiting to adopt a DVGRR Golden.

In order to avoid disappointment for new applicants as well as to be fair to those already waiting, we are therefore implementing the following TEMPORARY application restrictions:

1)      If you are seeking to adopt a young Golden Retriever from DVGRR, we regret that we will be unable to accept your application at this time.  If you would like to be notified when this temporary restriction has been lifted, please email adoption@dvgrr.org and we will alert you when you can submit your application. Please keep in mind that it may be several months before you hear from us.  

2)      If you are seeking to adopt a middle-aged or senior Golden Retriever (6 and up), a dog with special adoptions needs, a bonded pair, or a dog that must be an “only dog,” we will be happy to accept your application for a dog with those characteristics at this time. As always, please review our Eligibility Guidelines first to be sure you meet our initial adoption requirements.
