When we announced plans for The Lynne Glennon Sanctuary for Senior Goldens and Puppy MillSurvivors, Golden Retriever Senior Rescue Sanctuary and Educational Center, Inc. (GRSRS&EC), in Reading, MA, generously agreed to throw their support behind our efforts. Thanks to donations to GRSRS&EC, they provided for his support as well as providing similar funding for some of the seniors and puppy mill survivors that become residents of the Sanctuary.
This wonderful senior underwent surgery for painful bladder stones at BARK. After surgery, days were filled with concern about his recovery. He was not regaining an appetite and was lethargic. With constant love and care and interaction with some females at Golden Gateway, Prince Charles slowly came around and went on to live in a loving, forever home. We don’t know the horrors that Prince Charles faced during his time in the puppy mill, but we do know that the efforts of GRSRS&EC and DVGRR provided him with the love, comfort, and care that this special senior truly deserved.
Carol Allen, GRCA National Rescue Committee Chair, sent us the following message when she heard the news about our collaborative effort:
“I know that I speak for the network of 100 Golden Retriever programs across the country in sending congratulations and appreciation to Delaware Valley Golden Retriever Rescue as new property is acquired and new missions are begun. DVGRR’s willingness to work collaboratively with other programs, highlighted today by its new relationship with the Golden Retriever Senior Rescue Sanctuary and Educational Center, benefits Goldens and also inspires the humans who care for them.”
Today, GRSRS&EC continues their support by sponsoring all the Senior Goldens at the Sanctuary!
