2021 Gala Update

For the second consecutive year, DVGRR must cancel our Golden Gala, which was scheduled for April 17th, due to ongoing group gathering restrictions. This is a very heart-wrenching decision for us. The Gala is our premier fundraising event that generates much needed funds for the dogs in our care. Having to cancel this event two years in a row, we find ourselves challenged to find other ways to help the dogs. We will continue to offer online auctions, challenges, and other fun ways to raise the money needed for DVGRR to continue our mission and cover daily expenses.

If you ever attended our Gala, you know we have a large need that we announce as our Fund-A-Cause during the live auction. For the last two years, we have discussed a need for the rescue above and beyond the normal day-to-day expenses.

Since we can’t hold the Gala to present our Fund-A-Cause in person, we’ll be holding a virtual Fund-A-Cause in the next few weeks.

In the meantime, please mark your calendar for Saturday, October 2^nd, for our next attempt for a group gathering on-site at Golden Gateway. The dogs have been howling all about it. The Fall Flannel Fundraiser will be a time to get together, bid on live and silent auction items, and chat with other supporters, volunteers, staff, and friends about our favorite topic… DOGS! More details will be coming as we continue to monitor social event requirements.
